One line drawings are my practice in simplicity and minimalism. Attempting to create a likeness and feeling with just one continuous line can be harder than it looks. The diverse animals of San Juan Island were the influence for a series of one line drawings to capture the beautiful animals that surround me. My favorite bird, the kingfisher. I will hear it's quick chattering call first and then look to find my fast small friend dart across a bay to dive in the water after it's prey. A strikingly beautiful shiny blue bird with an orange belly, it's always a pleasure to see a kingfisher.
